Introduction Total War: Shogun 2 is widely regarded as a masterpiece of the strategy genre. Released by Creative Assembly in 2011, it refined the series’ signature blend of turn-based campaign management and real-time tactical battles. Set against the backdrop of the Sengoku Jidai (the Warring States period) of 16th-century Japan, the game offers immense replayability, especially with its roster of downloadable content (DLC). Expansions like Rise of the Samurai , Fall of the Samurai , and various clan packs add dozens of hours of unique gameplay. A typical configuration might look like this: [steam]
However, the calculus has changed. Shogun 2 is over a decade old. The complete collection is routinely sold for the price of a sandwich. The risks—account bans, malware infections, broken saves, and legal liability—far outweigh the savings of a few dollars.
