Clear the Rockstar Games launcher cache (see Part 4). Error 3: "gtavlauncher.exe - Application Error" (0xc0000142 or 0xc0000005) Cause: Corrupt game files, outdated GPU drivers, or interference from overlay software (Discord, Nvidia GeForce Experience, MSI Afterburner).

Open Task Manager, select gtavlauncher.exe , and click End Task . This is safe and will not corrupt your saves (though it may interrupt cloud sync). gtavlauncher.exe

It is uploading your save data to Social Club cloud storage, syncing achievements, and sending telemetry data to Rockstar (crash reports, performance metrics). Clear the Rockstar Games launcher cache (see Part 4)
