A customer says, “I left my ID at home, but here’s my work badge with my birthdate.” Can you accept this?
Absolutely not. Work badges, student IDs, library cards, and birth certificates (without photo) are not acceptable . Only government-issued photo IDs are valid. Section 4: State-Specific Variations (Important!) While the training provides general answers, three states have unique rules that may appear on your test:
Do not hold the alcohol. Politely inform them that you cannot reserve age-restricted products. You must have the ID present at the time of transaction , and the alcohol must remain in your possession until payment is completed.
A secret shopper who is 22 years old presents a valid ID but forgets their wallet in the car. They ask you to hold the alcohol while they go get it. What do you do?
