In the crowded graveyard of mobile gaming, few tombstones gleam with the polished nostalgia of Battleheart . Released in 2011, the original game revolutionized the RPG genre on touchscreens. It was a masterclass in minimalist design: dual-finger dragging to control a party of heroes, real-time combat with pause functionality, and a charming, chunky art style that ran smoothly on an iPhone 3GS.
Furthermore, the "auto-play" epidemic has left tactical combat starving. Most mobile RPGs play themselves. Battleheart 3 would be a rebellious act: a game that requires your brain, your fingers, and your strategy. It is a game for adults with 15 minutes to spare, or an hour to invest. As of this writing, Mika Mobile has not officially announced Battleheart 3 . The developers have stated in past blog posts that they "haven't forgotten" the franchise, but are focusing on other passions.
